We directly collect information such as your name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number so that we can send you information or contact you about your accounts. We do this to identify you as a customer, to verify your identity, to prevent unauthorized or fraudulent use of your account, and to prevent unauthorized disclosure of information. We collect information from you to: help us to better meet your needs; make the financial aid process easier for you; deliver the financial services you have requested; determine your eligibility to receive a loan or a benefit on a loan; permit the servicing of your loan(s); locate you; and collect on your loan(s) if that becomes necessary. We indirectly collect financial information and nonpublic personal information about you from consumer reporting agencies. We use this information to process an application for a Federal PLUS loan, and to collect existing FFELP loans. Information Sharing/SellingWe do not share nonpublic personal information about you except as required to administer your FFELP loan (such as with lenders, servicers, schools, guaranty agencies, credit bureaus, and the U.S. Department of Education and its agents). We share information if the law requires us to do so. We may share information with service providers, and to entities which may assist with loan collection support.
